Holiday and sickness
Holiday and sickness land on the same week, and the rota goes wrong when one of them is invisible. A person who is off should not still be published as if they will arrive. A person on irregular hours still builds holiday. A fit note is evidence. It is not a wage calculation, and it is not a score you pin on the wall.
The posts here explain holiday pay for zero-hours staff, including the 12.07% accrual and the 52-week average, and Statutory Sick Pay from the first day in the 2026/27 tax year. They say what Shiftbrook records and what it refuses to calculate. Pay, tax and a payment of sick pay stay outside the product.
The leave screen is where a request is approved. The holiday entitlement and holiday pay calculators are estimates you type into, not a payroll history. The fit note guide and the SSP calculator sit next to those posts. Read the GOV.UK pages they cite before you treat a sentence here as the whole rule.
