Record TOIL hours
Approved overtime marked as time off in lieu adds hours. Taking TOIL never reduces holiday.
Who can do this. A manager, admin, owner or HR can add overtime or an adjustment on the person's Leave tab. The person sees their own balance.
- Open the person and the Leave tab. The TOIL card lists Earned, Taken, Adjusted and Expired hours.
- Under Record approved overtime, enter Day worked, Hours and Reason.
- Leave How it is paid as Time off in lieu, or choose Paid when those hours should not be added to the TOIL balance.
- Press Add overtime.
- To correct the balance, use Adjust the balance, enter the hours (a minus reduces it) and a Reason, then press Save adjustment.
- Under Settings, then Holiday, Time off in lieu sets the default, Expires after (months), and Allow a negative TOIL balance. Press Save.
What happens when TOIL hours expire?
The oldest hours are used first. When Expires after (months) is set, hours past that age drop off the balance. Leave the field blank and they do not expire.
