Running a shift team

Running the team is what you do after the rule is written down. Someone does not arrive. The Saturday close always falls on the same two people. A cafe week has an open, a close and a gap between services, and it falls apart if one of those rows is wrong. These guides are that practical layer, for a small site rather than a head office.

They are not customer stories. There is no invented cafe and no quote from a manager we do not have. Where a post states a legal rule, it links the GOV.UK or ACAS page and says what the product will not decide for you. Tips, a Sunday premium and the minimum wage are payroll questions. The rota only shows who was expected.

The hospitality and retail pages describe the same job by sector. The staff rota template is the blank file. The rota screen is the draft and the published week. Read the fair-rota guide before you copy a pattern from a busier site and hope it fits a team of six.
