Price on the pageLite £3.25, Core £4.25, Pro £6.50 per user per month. Deputy says these exclude applicable taxes, and that they are billed upfront or in monthly instalments.Free for up to 5 staff on the first organisation. After that, or for a second organisation, £3 per active person per month, with a £15 minimum.
MinimumDeputy’s pricing FAQ says monthly Lite, Core and Pro plans have a minimum of £20 per month per invoice, from 1 September 2025.The paid plan has a £15 minimum. The free plan has no monthly fee.
Trying itThe pricing page offers a free trial on Lite and Core. The FAQ says a trial period is respected if you upgrade before it ends. This page does not state a length, because the pricing page did not print one in the text that was read. One 14-day trial of the paid plan. No card. The free plan itself is not a trial.
Rota and clockLite lists basic rotas, basic timesheets and basic time clocking. Core lists auto-scheduling, demand forecasting and biometrics.Draft and publish a rota, open shifts, clock-in against a site pin, and unpaid breaks that were actually taken. No auto-scheduling and no face unlock.
PayCore lists wage and labour budgets. The page also lists payroll and HR integrations on Lite.Shiftbrook records hours and downloads a CSV. It does not calculate pay. Sending hours to Xero Payroll UK is not available until that connection works end to end.

What was on Deputy’s UK pricing page

On 21 October 2026, deputy.com/gb/pricing showed three plans. Lite was £3.25 per user per month, Core was £4.25, and Pro was £6.50. Each line said the figure was in GBP and excluded applicable taxes, billed upfront or in monthly instalments. HR was listed separately at £2 per user per month. SMS for the UK was listed in the FAQ at 5p per 160 characters, also exclusive of applicable taxes.

The same FAQ says there is a minimum monthly spend of £20 per month per invoice on monthly Lite, Core and Pro plans from 1 September 2025. Admins and managers are counted as users. A person added during the month is charged for the full month, and archiving during the month does not remove that month’s charge. Those rules are Deputy’s, from that FAQ.

Lite’s feature list includes basic rotas, basic timesheets, basic time clocking, shift swap, leave accruals and payroll and HR integrations. Core adds auto-scheduling, demand forecasting and wage and labour budgets, and biometrics. Pro adds single sign-on and location hierarchies. Shiftbrook does not offer auto-scheduling, demand forecasting, wage budgets or face unlock. Those are differences, not a claim that Deputy’s list is wrong.

A five-person team, as arithmetic

Five times Deputy’s Lite price of £3.25 is £16.25. That is below the £20 monthly invoice minimum Deputy describes, so a monthly Lite invoice may be lifted to £20. The pricing page does not show a separate annual rate in the text that was read, so this page does not invent one. Annual billing is described in the FAQ as an upfront charge for the year.

Five people on Shiftbrook’s first organisation stay on the free plan. There is no monthly fee at that size. A sixth person, or choosing upgrade, starts the one 14-day trial. The paid price after that is £3 per active person per month, with a £15 minimum. Shiftbrook does not calculate the wages Deputy’s Core plan budgets.

When Deputy is the better choice

Choose Deputy when you need wage and labour budgets, demand forecasting, or auto-scheduling. Those are on Deputy’s Core list. Shiftbrook does not calculate wages and it does not build the rota for you. Choose Deputy when you want the SMS or the HR add-on their FAQ prices separately. Shiftbrook does not send SMS.

Shiftbrook is the clearer fit when the first organisation is still within 5 staff and you want rota, clock-in, leave and timesheets with no monthly fee. That is not a reason Deputy’s published list is wrong. It is a different product.
