RotaCloud’s band price, next to Shiftbrook.
RotaCloud prices by the size of the team, not by a single per-person rate. The figures below are the 1–5 employee band on their pricing page, read on 21 October 2026. A larger band has to be read on that page, because the slider did not print every band in the text.
Prices checked 21 October 2026.
| RotaCloud | Shiftbrook | |
|---|---|---|
| Price on the page | Standard £10 a month for 1–5 employees. Pro £15 a month for the same band. The page says annual billing saves £20 a year on Standard and £30 a year on Pro, against paying monthly. | Free for up to 5 staff on the first organisation. After that, or for a second organisation, £3 per active person per month, with a £15 minimum. |
| Clock-in | Time & Attendance is shown as 4.50 beside the 1–5 Standard price, described as clocking in and timesheets. It is not included in the Standard feature list. | Clock-in against a site pin is included on the free plan and the paid plan. It is not an add-on. |
| Trying it | 30-day free trial. The page says no payment info is required to start, and no setup fee. | Free for up to 5 staff, with no time limit. One 14-day trial of the paid plan, with no card. |
| What the Standard list includes | Unlimited sites and departments, rota planning, holiday, sickness, TOIL, shift swapping, and labour cost figures. SMS is a separate figure of 2 beside that band. | One location on the free plan. More locations, and departments, are on the paid plan. No SMS. No labour cost forecast. |
| Tax | RotaCloud’s help centre says the prices are exclusive of VAT. | The £3 and £15 figures are the published price. This page does not add a tax line of its own. |
What was on the pricing page
On 21 October 2026, rotacloud.com/pricing showed Standard at £10 a month and Pro at £15 a month for 1–5 employees. Annual billing was described as a saving of £20 a year on Standard and £30 a year on Pro, compared with paying monthly. Time & Attendance was printed as 4.50 next to that Standard band, and SMS notifications as 2. The page did not put a £ sign on those two add-on numbers in the text that was read, so this page does not add one.
Standard’s list includes unlimited sites and departments, templates, copying, holiday, sickness, TOIL, shift swapping and labour cost figures by day, week and month. Pro adds forecasting, budget caps and document storage. Clocking in is described on the Time & Attendance section, not inside the Standard bullet list. Shiftbrook’s clock-in is part of the product on both the free plan and the paid plan. Shiftbrook does not show labour cost as a percentage of sales, and it does not send SMS.
The page offers a 30-day trial and says no payment information is required. Their help centre article on paying says there is no long-term contract, and that the prices are exclusive of VAT. A team bigger than five uses the slider on their page. This comparison does not guess those bands.
Five people, without adding the add-on
The 1–5 Standard band is £10 a month for the rota plan as printed. That is the whole band, not £10 each. Time & Attendance, if you add it, is the 4.50 figure printed beside it. Five people on Shiftbrook’s first organisation are on the free plan, which already includes clock-in, and there is no monthly fee.
Neither number is a wage. RotaCloud’s page talks about labour costs. Shiftbrook records the hours and leaves pay outside the product. Sending approved hours to Xero Payroll UK is not available until that connection works end to end.
When RotaCloud is the better choice
Choose RotaCloud when you want labour cost figures, SMS, or unlimited sites on the 1 to 5 band they print. Shiftbrook’s free plan is one location, it does not send SMS, and it does not show labour cost. Their Pro list adds forecasting and budget caps, which Shiftbrook does not have.
Clock-in is not a reason to prefer them. Time and Attendance is an add-on on their page, printed as 4.50 beside the Standard band, and the page did not put a £ sign on that number. Clock-in is included in Shiftbrook. A team of up to 5 on the first organisation stays on the free plan.
