TimeGenie’s timesheet bundles, next to Shiftbrook.
TimeGenie sells bundles of timesheets, to use within 12 months, with invoicing and expenses on the same page. The figures below were read on thetimegenie.com on 23 October 2026. A per-contractor monthly price was not on that page.
Prices checked 21 October 2026.
| TimeGenie | Shiftbrook | |
|---|---|---|
| Price on the page | 10 timesheets at £2.90 each, 20 at £2.50, 50 at £2.25, 100 at £2.00, 200 at £1.70, and 350 at £1.40. The page says you buy a bundle to use within 12 months, and that all features are included. | Free for up to 5 staff on the first organisation. Then £5 per active worker per month, with a £25 minimum for an agency. Staff and managers count. Owners, admins, HR and client approvers are not charged. |
| Invoicing and expenses | The page lists purchase invoicing, sales invoicing, expense submission, and feeds into an accounting package. | Shiftbrook does not raise an invoice, does not record expenses, and does not feed an accounting package. Approved hours download as a CSV. |
| Reminders | The page lists email alerts and reminders, and one-click approval. | The client approves from their own login. Shiftbrook does not email the approver a weekly chaser. |
| Clock-in | The page describes a mobile portal for timesheets and expenses. It does not describe a site pin. | Clock-in checks the phone against a site pin. The default radius is 100 metres, from 25 to 1000. A punch outside the pin is refused unless the organisation flags it instead. |
| Pay | Invoicing is listed. This page does not invent a payroll feature the source did not print. | Shiftbrook records hours. It does not calculate pay. Approved hours can be sent to Xero Payroll UK as draft timesheets on the paid plan. |
What was on the TimeGenie page
On 23 October 2026, thetimegenie.com showed timesheet bundles rather than a monthly price per contractor. Ten timesheets were £2.90 each, twenty were £2.50, fifty were £2.25, one hundred were £2.00, two hundred were £1.70, and three hundred and fifty were £1.40. The page said the bundle can be used any time within 12 months, and that all features are included.
The same page lists timesheets, purchase invoicing, sales invoicing, email reminders, a branded portal, an API to take data in, feeds to send data out, and expense submission including a photo of a receipt. It also says multiple approvers can be set on a timesheet. Those are TimeGenie’s claims, from that page. Shiftbrook does not raise invoices, does not store receipts, does not send reminder emails, and does not advertise a multi-approver workflow.
Forty workers, as arithmetic
Forty active workers on Shiftbrook’s agency price is 40 times £5, which is £200 in a month, because 40 is above the £25 minimum. The minimum is five workers, £25. TimeGenie’s bundle is not a monthly worker price, so this page does not divide that monthly total by a timesheet. A bundle of 100 timesheets at £2.00 each is £200, and the page said that bundle lasts up to 12 months. How many timesheets a 40-person agency would buy is their own volume, not a figure this page invents.
Client approvers on Shiftbrook are free. TimeGenie’s page did not print a separate approver price in the text that was read.
When TimeGenie is the better choice
Choose TimeGenie when you need the sales invoicing, purchase invoicing, expenses or accounting feeds their page lists. Shiftbrook stops at agreed hours and a CSV. Choose them when a branded portal that the worker sees as yours matters more than a site-pin clock.
Shiftbrook is the clearer fit when the week is a published rota, the clock is a pin on the client site, and the client approves from a free login. The first organisation is free for up to 5 staff. One 14-day trial of the paid plan does not ask for a card.
